Course Selection

Every spring, 9th-11th graders will meet with their guidance counselor to select their courses for the next year. These conversations are most productive if the student and family have considered their options and chosen the best courses for them, including back-up options. The Program of Studies includes information on all of the available courses and levels (CP/H/AP). This reference guide can help navigate the Program of Studies efficiently. This presentation highlights graduation requirements and typical course sequences.

Near the end of the first semester, teachers will submit recommendations for each student in Aspen indicating which level (CP, Honors, or AP) they feel is most appropriate for the following year. Students should consider these recommendations when deciding their future courses. If they have questions regarding a recommendation, they are encouraged to speak with their teacher to learn more about the different levels and which is likely to be the best fit.
