PCC Welcome Letter 2023-2024

Dear FHS Families:

Welcome to the start of another school year! I would like to introduce the 2023-2024 PCC Board members. I am Shari Feldman, your PCC President. I have two children at FHS: a 12th-grader and a
9th-grader. I have served on both the Oak Street and HMMS PCCs in various capacities and this will be my second year as FHS PCC President. Lisa Zonghi will continue to be our Treasurer this year. She has
a 12th-grader at FHS and an 8th-grader at HMMS. Lisa has extensive Treasurer experience, having held the position for both the Oak Street and HMMS PCCs. Beth Walsh will be our Secretary again this year, and she has a 12th-grader and a 10th-grader at FHS and an 8th-grader at RMS.

For those of you new to FHS, the PCC serves in a vastly different capacity than in elementary and middle school. Our primary role is to be your source of communication for all things FHS, including providing you with any updates that may come from Principal Hanna or FPS. All of our communications are posted on our Facebook Page (Franklin High School PCC), and on our Twitter account: @FHS_PCC. We host PCC meetings throughout the year, which will be both in-person in the FHS Library AND virtual via Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/gqi-ehey-dof)

Our meeting dates for this year are as follows (all at 7pm unless otherwise indicated)::

● Tuesday, September 19 (NOTE: this meeting will also be at 8AM IN-PERSON ONLY)
● Wednesday, December 13th
● Tuesday, April 2nd
● Tuesday, May 2
● Tuesday, May 21st (tentative)

Please visit the PCC link on the FHS website to find the agendas and minutes from our meetings: https://www.franklinps.net/fhs/students-families/pages/pcc. The Board’s contact information and all of our
meeting dates are posted there. You can also find the agendas and minutes on our Facebook page.

In addition to providing families with information about FHS, the PCC also supports the teachers and staff. We have a Hospitality committee that oversees Teacher Appreciation Week, which generally consists of organizing and setting up breakfasts and luncheons for the teachers. Because these activities require funding, the PCC has become a 501c3 non-profit organization, which allows any direct donation to be
100% tax-deductible. If you would like to contribute a direct donation to the FHS PCC, please click on the following link (you do NOT need a PayPal account to donate): https://tinyurl.com/fhspccdirectdonation.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for meeting topics, you can reach out to any of us via Facebook, Twitter, or at fhspcc@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to another great year at FHS!!

Sincerely,
Shari Feldman
FHS PCC President
