FHS Graduation  
 
  • Date:  Friday, May 31st, 2024  RAIN or SHINE
  • Time:  6:30 PM* 
  • Location:  Pisini Field, or if bad weather is forecast it may be moved to the FHS Gym and Auditorium (you will know of any alternate plan ahead of time)
  • Gates Open for Guests at : 5:00 PM -we ask that guests line up at either the FHS entrance to Pisini field or the Horace Mann entrance to the field. Please note: those that have reserved accessible seating should use the FHS entrance to the field and they will be permitted to go to the front of the line at that entrance to get escorted to their reserved accessible seats.
  • In case of Inclement Weather: *A decision will be made by the middle of Graduation Day as to whether the ceremony start time should be shifted to avoid inclement weather. The Graduation Ceremony start time may be shifted to as early as 4:30 PM or as late at 7:30 PM.

Graduates-
Tickets- Each graduate will be given 6 tickets (tickets will be given to grads during the Thursday, May 30th Grad rehearsal). You can invite more than 6 guests, but only those with a ticket may take a seat on the field. Those guests without a ticket  may use the standing room area around the track or may be seated on the bleachers behind the podium to view the Graduation Ceremony.  Seats are reserved for those with tickets. Even those with reserved accessible seating will require a ticket. 
Arrival-Grads need to arrive to the Gymnasium by 5:00 PM
 
Guests-
Seating-  Anyone with a ticket may take a seat on the field. Those that do not have a ticket may use the bleachers immediately behind the podium or stand on the walking track around the field to view the ceremony.  We ask that guests enter Pisini Field via the FHS entrance gate, or the Horace Mann Middle School entrance gate, which will open at 5:00 pm.  
 
Handicapped Accessible Seating /Language translator/ASM interpreter- FORM to request accessible seating accommodation or a translator/interpreter Those guests that have reserved accessible seating prior to May 31st using this form should use the FHS entrance gate to access the Pisini field, as that is closest to the FHS Handicapped parking area. They should go to the front of the line and give the usher their grad's name, present their tickets, and they will be escorted to their reserved seats.  There will be golf carts circulating around assisting those that cannot walk to their seats.
 
Parking will be available in all FHS parking lots, at the Pirelli Ice Rink, at the Franklin Senior Center, and at Horace Mann Middle School. There will be extra designated Handicapped parking in the FHS lot that is closest to HMMS.  There will also be a drop off loop set up for those family members that cannot walk from a distant parking spot.  Golf carts will be circling around the Handicapped parking area at FHS to assist those in need of a lift to their seats.
 
         A shuttle bus will run between the Senior Center, the Ice Rink and Horace Mann Middle School near the field entrance gate.
 
Photography- GradImages takes photos of every graduate as they exit the podium. Students/Parents/Guardians can pre-register on their website so that when the proofs are ready you will be notified via email and text and can view them immediately. You can save 20% on your order for pre-registering. You are under no obligation to purchase anything from GradImages, but if you would like to, registering is a way to make sure you do not miss seeing those photos as soon as they are available.   
 
Student Health & Permanent Records: With the exception of the Official Transcript, all Student Academic and Health Records will be placed in 2 large manila envelopes that will be distributed to students during Graduation Rehearsal on Wednesday, May 29th. Please open the envelopes to make sure you have your own records!!  Please note that Franklin High School does NOT keep a copy of your diploma or any of your academic or medical records. The only record we keep on file is your Official Transcript, which contains your courses, grades, credits, and graduation date. Please make sure to store your diploma where you can find it, if necessary, in the future!!!
 
Caps and Gowns- will be distributed to you on Senior Sign Out Day (Friday, May 24th-see schedule below) as long as you have met all of your obligations: you do not owe any money to the school or cafeteria, have returned your Chromebook & charger, books, textbooks, library books, and any other school owned items, and have completed the Guidance Post Grad Future Plans online form.

Senior Awards Night-

       Awards Ceremony in the FHS Auditorium at 6:30pm 
 
Senior Final Exam Week 5/20-5/24- Seniors attend only during their scheduled exams M-Th of this week. Students must stay until the end of their exam periods. Make sure to bring your textbook with you to your final so it can be returned!!  All seniors need to attend Friday's Senior Sign Out Day according to the schedule below.

  • Chromebook & charger return  - All seniors must return their Chromebooks & chargers no later than Friday May 24th.  These devices are the property of Franklin Public Schools.   All fees need to be paid prior to Graduation. Click HERE for more information on Chromebook Return
    • Failure to return your Chromebook will result in a charge of $250.00
    • If you have lost your charger you will need to pay $40 
    • Any intentional damage to your Chromebook (carvings, etc.) will result in a bill of $250.00
    • Damaged Chromebooks that were not insured this school year will result in a bill of $250.00
    • Please remove all stickers before returning your Chromebook to avoid a fee
    • Download anything you want to save from your Chromebook and your School Google account to an external drive or personal Google account before graduation.
    • Your school Google account will be deactivated once you graduate and you will not have access to your FPS Google Drive after that.
  • Return books and other materials to your classroom teachers; if you have not done so, you can return it at the textbook return station at the sign out.
  • Pay all monies owed to FHS - pay here > online or by check to Mrs. Tocci any money owed to the school(except cafeteria fees) ; make checks out to Town of Franklin. She will have a station at the Sign out to collect fees; she also has an office inside the Guidance Office.
  • Pay all outstanding cafeteria balances to the cafeteria personnel at the sign out, or pay them online in your LinqConnect lunch account before this day- any checks should be made out to Franklin Food Service with student's name on the memo line of the check.
  • Guidance-Make sure you have completed Guidance's Future Plans Google Form. This is part of the sign-out for all seniors.
  • AP-Pronunciation of your name and letting you know if you owe any detentions AP will read your name during the Graduation Ceremony; you can correct their pronunciation at this time; they will also let you know if you have any unserved detentions, or anything else that you owe them.
  • Make sure you do not have any outstanding Library materials (books, calculators)-they can be returned at the circulation desk at any time
  • Cap and Gown Distribution- As long as you have cleared all (7) of the above obligation categories and you have obtained the required 7 signatures on your sign out sheet, you will receive your cap and gown at the final station manned by your Class Advisors Ms. Cullinan and Mr. Doherty.

All Night Party at HMMS from 11 PM Friday (doors close at 11:30pm) May 31st to 5 AM Saturday June 1st. Tickets for All Night Party can be purchased from now until 5/30/24 > HERE.   If you have signed up for ANP and do not show up, they WILL call your home
