12/18/2023 - Regular Dismissal High Winds - Road Conditions

Dear Franklin Public School Staff and Families,

As we continue to experience high winds and heavy rainfall throughout our town, we have experienced power outages, down trees, and localized flooding. All staff and students are safe at this time. Our Facilities Dept. has been on site assessing and responding to each situation.  All outages have been reported to the National Grid. Any school experiencing a power outage has communicated with their respective community. Lunches are being served, and recess is being held indoors.

After consulting with the Franklin Fire Department, Police Department, and National Grid, there was a consensus that it is safest to remain in the schools for the remainder of the school day while they work to ensure safer passage throughout town during our regularly scheduled dismissal. An announcement at FHS will remind our student drivers to drive safely and take their time getting home.

Once again, our students are safe in the building, and we plan to conduct a typical school day with dismissal at our regular time. As always, we must all remain flexible. Please expect road detours throughout the town and delays during dismissal as we work to transport students home safely. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Attention Parmenter/JFK Solutions Families
Our Parmenter and JFK Solutions programs will close at 4:00 pm today due to the impacts of power outages on December 18th.  All other Solutions programs will operate as usual.  Thank you.
