Notification of School Committee Meetings

As required by law, a minimum of 48 hours advance notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) will be given for any meeting of the Franklin School Committee, including all subcommittee meetings.  The only exception permitted is in case of emergency, which the law defines as “a sudden, generally unexpected occurrence or set of circumstances demanding immediate action.”  Notice of emergency meetings will be posted as soon as reasonably possible prior to the meeting.  Meeting notices will be posted in a manner that is accessible to disabled persons to the extent required by federal and state law.  Notices will include a list of topics the chair reasonably anticipates will be discussed, i.e. an agenda, and will be posted in or on municipal building to be visible to the public at all hours.

Notification of the dates, times and places of regular meetings will be accomplished by periodic publication of the schedule for the ensuing months.  Notification of a change in a regular meeting time or place and notification of a special meeting will be filed with the town clerk in accordance with requirements of the Open Meeting Law.
