Chromebook Insurance 2022-2023

Optional insurance for Chromebooks is made available to students on an annual basis, for PRICE YET TO BE DETERMINED FOR 2022-23 School year. The policy you purchase for your student's Chromebook is good from the day you purchase it until the day before the next school year starts. Although not mandatory, the Insurance is highly recommended. This insurance covers accidental damage and theft of the device.  The program does not cover lost or misplaced devices or chargers.  For purposes of this policy, a device is considered stolen only after the student has filed a report directly with the Franklin Police.   If it is determined that a student has intentionally damaged their Chromebook, they will be responsible for paying the full $250.00 to replace it. Insurance does not cover this type of damage. If a student cracks their Chromebook screen more than 3 times, they will be required to pay $250.00. Insurance also covers Chromebook chargers that stop working and/or break.  If it is determined that a student has intentionally damaged or lost a Chromebook charger they will be responsible to pay $54.00 to replace it.

*Please note: If you do not purchase insurance, your student will be charged $250 for each accidental damage

**If you are considered Free/Reduced, you still must sign up for insurance in order for your student to have coverage.

Chromebook Insurance may be purchased online via Unibank; The payment link will be also located under ONLINE PAYMENTS on the RMS website. This payment portal is open in late August through mid September. If you are a new student that registers after the school year starts, you have one week to purchase insurance via check ( for the full cost) made out to" TOWN OF FRANKLIN " and with “Chromebook Insurance” in the memo line.

Problems with your Chromebook?

They will be contacted once their Chromebook has been repaired.
