Last week, our cafeterias were transformed into a local BBQ smokehouse! We treated students at the Elementary Schools on Thursday and the MS/HS on Friday to a true labor of love: 16-hour slow-cooked beef brisket.
We started by hand-rubbing each cut with a signature blend of mustard and savory spices before letting it cook low and slow until it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Even better? We’re proud to partner with our neighbors at Weatherlow Farms in Westport, MA, to bring high-quality, grass-fed beef straight from their pastures to our students' plates!

On March 2 we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with a Green Eggs and Ham meal at the Franklin Elementary Schools. We also did a lucky tray and gave out Dr. Seuss books as prizes. Our staff joined in the fun and dressed up like Cat in the Hat!

Gavin is one of about 15,000 students across the nation chosen as a finalist. Throughout March, NMSC will select 6,930 students from the pool of finalists to win National Merit Scholarships totaling nearly $26 million.

After the visit, when connecting with teachers, they all echoed the same sentiments. They commented on how passionate, well-prepared, and confident the students were, and how naturally they connected with our second graders. The lesson was engaging and interactive, and it was clear how much care and preparation went into their work.
I value these partnerships and growing opportunities for students to connect across grade levels. Experiences like this are incredibly meaningful.

Our District Chef used Local Grass Fed Ground Beef from Weatherlow Farms, In Westport, MA, to make our scratch made Beef Bolognese for lunch today! We used fresh ingredients like pancetta, onions, celery and carrots.

These awards, distinctions and all-star selections add to the many team accomplishments that made this one of the school’s strongest fall athletic seasons in recent years, including Franklin High Cheerleading winning the Division I State Championship and the Girls Volleyball victory in the MIAA Division I State Championship, marking the program’s first-ever state title.
