Oak Street News & Announcements

Open House Night - 9/12 5-7 PM

  • Our Open house night is scheduled for next Thursday. This year we will continue with a similar event to last year few years with a Walkthrough - Open House format, and we will continue to invite students to attend.

  • Parents and guardians are invited to bring their student(s) to be a guide for them with their classroom visits to receive information regarding the grade level curriculum and more of the student experience at Oak Street. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to meet their child’s teacher, view their learning environment, and build relationships.

Oak Street Staff Introductions

Lockdown Drill

  • We will have our first Lockdown Drill of the year on Monday September 16. These drills help our students and staff practice if we needed to enter into a lockdown situation. We are sharing this information with you ahead of time and we will make sure students are aware of the drill in order to avoid any added anxiety that can come with these drills. 

  • Please see the resource FAQs for Oak Street Lockdown Drill about lockdown drills and ways you can talk about this with your student. Contact us at any time with questions or concerns.

  • Where does your family trace its cultural or ethnic roots? 

  • The Oak Street School Council would like to invite you to please fill out and return the survey linked here. 

  • We will add an unlabeled pin(s) to the map in our front hallway to represent your child’s and your family’s heritage. 

Weekend Backpack

  • We are excited to continue our partnership with the Franklin Food Pantry this year! They have donated food to a number of Oak Street Families during our partnership.
