Dear Kennedy School Community,
Greetings to all returning students and families and a warm welcome to all who are new to Kennedy School. We are excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year! It will be a year filled with great learning opportunities and celebrations of students’ many successes. Our school community couldn’t do it without your support and active partnership as we continue to provide the very best learning experiences possible for our students. Kennedy School is a special place to grow and learn due to our strong collaborative partnership between school, home, and community. We encourage you to reach out to the teachers, specialists, and administrative team at JFK throughout the school year to share your thoughts, questions, and concerns in support of our partnership.
To assist with this partnership, the Kennedy Student and Family Handbook has been designed to communicate important information. This handbook serves the purpose of articulating the rights and responsibilities of students and parents. In addition, it provides you with the policies, procedures, and other pertinent information for Kennedy and the Franklin Public Schools. Please read over these pages carefully and keep the handbook available as a resource throughout the school year. We are always available to answer any questions you may have.
You will receive regular information about school activities and curriculum from the school office and your child’s teachers as well as from the Parent Communication Council (PCC). We truly believe that ongoing communication is the foundation of our strong school-family partnership. Additionally, you can visit our JFK website to find school communications, teacher websites, and blogs, to keep up-to-date on school happenings. We encourage you to become active and involved in our school community by joining the PCC, volunteering for school events, assisting in classrooms, communicating regularly with teachers and administrators, or simply assisting your child with homework and school activities. We look forward to an engaging and enjoyable school year!
