Parmenter Remote Learning
This site has been created to support the Parmenter community as we navigate through these unusual times. First and foremost, we hope that you all remain healthy during the coming days and weeks. Please continue to practice the essential guidelines shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These practices are incredibly important and will support a reduction in exposure to COVID 19 (Coronavirus).
The focus of our district and school work during this time has been on the fundamental values: connection, well-being, access, and continuous learning. This site has been developed with these in mind and includes necessary resources to support the Parmenter students and families.
Our teachers have worked tirelessly to prepare high-quality learning opportunities with the goal of our students continuing to learn and grow, despite these extraordinary circumstances. This site contains weekly assignments, schedules, & other important resources that have been thoughtfully developed by the teachers as part of the Remote Learning Plan and students are expected to participate in these learning experiences.
Family Supports
We understand that during this uncertain and unprecedented time, more families are in need of financial, food security, and emotional support. As our school motto, "Learning is what we do. Family is who we are," and our school song, "Home" by Philip Philips with the important chorus line, "Just Know You're Not Alone" indicate, we are all in this together. I consider us one large extended family and my top priority during these trying times is to ensure the physical and emotional safety of us all.
With this in mind, please complete this FORM at any time to request specific supports that will assist you and your family during this time. You will receive a response within 24 hours from one of Parmenter's Student Support & Safety Team members: Mrs. Barca, Mrs. Lamoureux, Mrs. Richardson, Mr. Tarasenko, or Mrs. Lazur. Supports may include, but are not limited to:
food for the weekend
food for weekdays
personal hygiene items (i.e. diapers, toilet paper, etc.)
home check/support from our School Resource Officer
social-emotional support/resources
Parmenter Health Office - Hours & Supports
Additionally, our school nurse, Kerry Richardson, RN will be available by email at richardsonk@franklinps.net from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Monday-Friday. She can assist any family with their requests (as identified above) and help navigate many of the available resources.
You can expect an email response within the designated time frame. The purpose of this time is to offer any health/medical support we can, as well as being a resource to help answer questions or direct you to where you can access the information/resources you may need.
