Literary Guild

Description:

This club is for literature enthusiasts. For those students who truly love to read and want more texts than would be offered in the regular education classrooms. Each month a group of students meet on a Friday to discuss one book that has been democratically chosen and read over the previous weeks. The club is entirely student run and the conversations are open to an exploration of all aspects involved in the book: themes, characters, writing style, language, etc. These discussions are often unstructured but produce very rich discussions where students talk about how the book has impacted their lives and further enhanced their love for reading. As a group, we are open to reading all literary genres, though we typically center on young adult literature, the classics, memoirs/diaries, and poetry. The club welcomes all students and levels of readers, and is designed to foster a lifelong passion for literature study.
