Empty Bowls Club

Description:

Franklin High School is participating in a community project called Empty Bowls, which works towards raising awareness about food insecurity in our local community. Students in the club spend the year making 300 to 400 clay bowls with the aid of the Franklin community and the district's middle school art clubs. Then, in early May, Empty Bowls will co-host a fundraiser with the Franklin Food Pantry; our community partner. At this event, participants will have a simple meal of soup and bread, can bid on Silent Auction items made by students in the club, and then leave the event with a handmade bowl as a reminder that somewhere someone’s bowl is empty. All proceeds from the fundraiser are donated to the Franklin Food Pantry.
