Keller Kids Art for Oge Mora

On April 28th, 2023, Keller Elementary School welcomed a visiting author/illustrator, Oge Mora! In preparation for her visit, students in grades 2-4 were inspired by her books to create some awesome works of art! Students in grade 2 were inspired by her book “Saturday” to think of a time that they spent with someone special and what they did together. Grade 3 students were inspired by “Thank You, Omu” to think about what positive characteristics they bring to the Keller community every day by making positive self portraits. Grade 4 students made their favorite foods, also inspired by “Thank You, Omu”. All of these projects were done using collage, which is how Oge Mora makes her illustrations for her books. Thank you to the Keller Parent Communication Council, the Franklin Cultural Council, and Mr. Stark for setting up this wonderful event!
